Derrick crane subjected to repeated loads

The main action that acts on the crane structure is due to the payload. In particular, in addition to the payload, it is very important to consider also the inertia action induced by moving load [1-3]. In general, these actions are evaluated by a specific coefficient that multiply the nominal load value; through this simple procedure it was estimated a load spectrum applied to the lifting machine [4-5].
The cranes mechanical behaviour is completely different if we compare the actions induced by earthquake or by the wind, with the action induced by moving load; in fact, in general the earthquake and wind actions are random and affect all crane parts [6-8]. Compared to the repeated load applied to the crane machine, also the application and release, or the sudden release of the load to the crane shows a different crane mechanical behaviour especially for the displacement magnitude [9-10].

Host city and venue - Belgrade

Belgrade is the capital and largest city of Serbia and a city of very tumultuous history. Belgrade was the capital of Yugoslavia from 1918 to 1991. It is located at the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers, where the Pannonian Plain meets the Balkans. It is one of the oldest cities in Europe and since ancient times it has been an important traffic focal point, an intersection of the roads of Eastern and Western Europe. Read more...
