Abstract: Modern production requires appropriate logistic approaches to reduce cost and provide better safety conditions. One of the essential requirements during the process of production is the elimination of the use of forklifts. Main reasons are safety of workers and cost reduction that are present during handling of containers by the forklifts due to possibility for transport of only one container. Today, trend is to organize line feeding with tow truck which pulls several trolleys. This system has a positive impact on above mentioned problems, but with the appearance of the new problem how to replace the empty container with a full one directly at the production line. Some developed systems based on gravity force enable automatic exchange of containers. However, these systems cannot be used for handling of heavy and dimensionally different parts that are present on some production lines like in the press shop in the automotive industry.  This paper present developed system with the possibility of exchange different type of heavy containers on the press line in the short term without any constraints.
