Failure based design of power transmission units for application in mechanization systems

Development and improvement of power transmission units for various area of application was
significant. Property based design approach provided improvement of various properties and characteristics. In the functional aspect is established the new principles of action which includes gear
connection, electronic and software control etc. In the structural aspect, significant reduction of dimensions and weight (Lightweight Design) is achieved by thermal and corresponding mechanical
treatment of gears, and by other approaches. In the aspect of transmission unit’s behavior are
significantly increased service life and reliability, together with vibration and noise reduction. In the meantime operating conditions of transmission units got significantly worst and possible failure relations of components was changed and needs the new approaches in analysis in comparison to the
traditional one.

Host city and venue - Vienna

Vienna (Wien) is the federal capital and largest city of Austria, and one of the nine states of Austria. Vienna is Austria's primate city, with a population of about 1.9 million (2.6 million within the metropolitan area, nearly one third of Austria's population), and its cultural, economic, and political centre. It is the 7th-largest city by population within city limits in the European Union.  Read more...
